Vegetating in front of the television

Today not much so far really... I was supposed to meet friends in the morning but it was cancelled due to British weather... in fact it didn't rain, but then too late to meet. Then maybe lunch with a friend, postponed till tonight. So I vegged in front of the television (and yes a bit of reading in bed too... but that self-help book is annoying me already... like the few I've read, they really develop their idea so that it makes a book).

Rewatched Stranger Things third series then told by K. to get off Netflix as they want to watch the last series. So I went to BBC player (the television is not working, only BBC player and Netflix, and perhaps AllFour is K. could remember their password) and I am now watching Aids: the unheard tapes.

Not quite a relaxing fell-good watch but I wanted to see a documentary after so many hours spent in fantasyland... but important to watch I feel. People today are scared of COVID, and yes they should be, but it seems they don't remember AIDS. I was a teenager when it really started in France and can really relate at times with some of the comments, stuff like speaking with others: 'how is so and so?' '-Oh he's dead'. And here that again and again. I don't even remember their names now, a pianist, a dancer, a singer... Tough times... but people started to be careful, and then treatment arrived.... so much in common with COVID really... and now the Monkey Pox... there are things to do to stay protected.

I wish we would remember history, its lessons, how we did things wrong at first - everything is deja-vu, everything!
